TENANT REVIEW

ボーダレスハウスに滞在して一番得られたことは、自分への自信です。もともと人と関わることに苦手意識を持っていたのですが、ハウスメイトとの交流はとても楽しく、自分から話しかけれるようになりました。

英語が上達したわけではないのですが、外国人と話す時の障壁が取り払われたのが身をもって感じてます。

毎日「行ってきま〜す」「ただいま〜」と言える相手がいて、全く寂しいと感じることがなく充実していた。私が企画した、"琵琶湖バレイ" ハイキング&ジップラインが一番いい思い出で、ハウスメンバー24人ほぼ全員が参加してくれた。

ボーダレスハウスを退去した人とも、今後も会ったり遊んだりすると思うので、ボーダレスハウスに住んでいる時にできた友達が、一番得られてよかったものだと思います。

英語の能力や様々な国の郷土料理の作り方、コミュニケーションの取り方など、様々な面で人間的に成長できたと感じております。

ハウスの人たちと交流することができるので日本語の実力が非常に高くなりました。

I really enjoyed the cultural exchange with other residents of the house. I think Borderless House can be a great chance for many international students or workers to experience the wonderful life and culture of Japan.

転職で、初めて関西に来たので、知り合いもいなく、そんな中で年末年始をハウスメイトと過ごせたことが、すごいいい思い出になっています。

ハウスによって特色があるので、どのハウスに滞在してもその場その場でいろんな友人ができます。 国際交流の枠を超えて凄い人がいたり、いい仲間がいることが多く、良い影響を与え合えるのがボーダレスハウスのいいところだと思います。

It's a great chance to be around japanese culture and language in a pressure-free environment. I was worried about sharing my living space, but it was actually very comfortable and fun. I think living in a sharehouse like this is an experience people should try; especially when living in a foreign country.

It's my second time in japan and my second time living in borderless house, i actually experienced 4 different sharehouse and i'm always making good memory, you learn to live with other roommate and share lot of of time together, and if i ever coming back in japan i will comeback to borderless house again for sure!

Every time I move into a shared apartment, I'm a little afraid of meeting so many new people again, but that thought always fades very quickly. Everyone is welcoming and really interested in meeting someone new. It's a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world and learn about their culture, especially Japanese culture. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Borderless plan a lot of gathering event. Before, I was shy to communicate with others, after I joined the borderless, I became talkative, and able to socialize more. I see most of the housemates on a daily basis. After my work i always spend time in the living room. On the weekends we always went out and social. I have a good time with my roommate.

いつも何かあれば迅速に対応して頂きありがとうございました。日本でのシェアハウス生活は初めてだったのでこの1年とても充実したものとなりました。お世話になりました。

I feel that it’s necessary for the first month(s) because when you arrive in Japan you just feel so lonely and it helps getting new friends very easily.

Some of the most memorable moments were when we all came home after work or school and relaxed and talked. There were times when we would plan dinners together, it felt like a family. Staying here has showed me to open my mind to new ideas. You are the same person no matter where you go, but you are never the same when you leave.

I had the opportunity to make friends of all kinds of different nationalities and get a broader world view.

I like the most about living here was: There are always different conversations going on. You're talking to different people, meeting new people. There's no single one that stands out but just the memory of the “Sense of community”, when we would all come together and just be like one, big international family. And definitely the parties. Such as welcome parties, bye-bye parties. It is just the sense of community at the end of the night! Borderless House did really help a lot because I was the most worried about just being alone in a country where you don't understand anything with the language barriers. Such as the Borderless House staff would gather events to meet new people. My housemates have been very helpful as well. They would make a phone call for you, and go to the ward office with you. So those difficulties were solved due to my own research as well as the support of my housemates and the staff here.

いろんな国から来た人たちと出会いながら自分も変わっいった一年でした。外語の能力を伸ばしたいとか、海外の文化を学びたい！ こんな方々にお勧めします。

The Borderless House is really friendly to a foreigner whose residence permit may expire within a year and does not apply for permanent residence. I appreciate it. As messed up as my life was, I was honoured to have known these roommates before I died. I hope everyone will have a good life in the future and don't be like me.

夏は川遊び、冬はスキー、春は花見など、楽しいイベントを皆で沢山共有できて充実したシェアハウス生活だったと心の底から思います！

My stay has been one big party!! I’ve stayed here for about 4 months and it was so much fun! I made some really good friends. Hanging out in the common area with friends, cooking, playing card games and just chatting away, was so much fun. I will miss Tamatsukuri house a lot. If not for my work I would’ve wanted to continue staying here. This was one of the best phases of my life and I will treasure the memories made at Tamatsukuri House for the rest of my life. Highly recommend Tamatsukuri House!

I spent 3 wonderful months in the sharehouse in Nishijin, my roommates were very friendly, it was a wonderful experience. I really enjoyed our movie nights, our meals cooked together, our outings in Kyoto and Halloween night! Thank you to everyone ! See you soon, I hope :)

I was worried about living with so many people at first since it was my first time living alone but I would say it changed my perspective since I thinks its pretty fun and gives you a lot of chances to make connections.

I met so wonderful people in this house, I’m so happy ! The first day I arrived, they did a party for welcoming me, and we did a lot of things in only few days even if I didn’t know them ! Also, we do a lot of things with people of other Borderless House of Kyoto, and that’s amazing ! I don’t want to move out and if I could stay more in Japan, I would definitely not leave Nishijin ! I will be very sad when I’ll leave, but I also know I’ll stay in contact with everyone :) Please, don’t stay in your room and talk to people even if they are shy, because they are waiting for that ! If people live in sharehouse, it’s for sharing moments with you ! Even more in Japan, where foreigners mentality are so open-minded !

クリスマスパーティーで各国のご飯をみんなで一緒に食べたのがよかった。ハリーポッターを一緒に見たのもすごく楽しかった。

今までにない考え方や背景を持った人との出会いがあり、より大きな視野を持てるようになります。ただ、住んでいるだけで英語が話せるようにはならないので(笑)、そこは積極性が必要ですが、英語へのハードルを下げたり、分からないことをすぐに聞ける環境があったりするのは自分にとって大きなメリットでした。コロナ発生時などでもお忙しいところご対応いただいたスタッフの皆様に感謝申し上げます。

Don't be afraid to ask for help, the others living in the house will be happy to help you if you need it. When I caught Covid I was unable to leave my room for meals, so my housemates brought me food each day, which I was very grateful for. The staff Mayu first introduced me to the house when I arrived, and we continued to stay in contact after that and occasionally went out for dinner and things, which was very nice. At the share house, I met at least one other person every day, and others a few days a week. It was always a very friendly and close environment.

I see almost all of my housemates everyday, most of us hang out in the living room to play games and watch movies. Everyone in the house is very friendly and open to helping.

My housemates were amazing people. They made me feel like home. I used to go out with them. Cool food, play games, go to the gym, just the best bunch of people. You’ll meet people from so many different countries. You’ll have the best time learning and sharing. Also, it’ll be crazy sometimes. The staff is just a really cool and fun person to be around. And always used to help with the things we needed.

When going into Japan I must admit that I have underestimated the language barrier at first. When I moved in I could barely introduce myself in Japanese, let alone having normal conversations. Since I was not actively studying the Japanese language some everyday things were a little bit difficult to do. However, having the Google translate app really helped me get through everyday life! Unless one has very good understanding of the Japanese language, I really recommend the app for everyone visiting Japan. Furthermore, everyone living here is very very nice, friendly and willing to help if you have any questions or problems whatsoever! I have made very good friends with everyone living here and I am sad to say that I have to go back home.

I really enjoyed my stay in this house. People are great, and the place is really cool! Thanks for everything Borderless House!

家ではお互いの言語を教え合ったり、外ではみんなでUSJに行ったりと、ルームメイトたちと楽しい充実した日々を過ごすことができました。

短い間でしたが、自分に合った生活が出来て住みやすかった。

1.ルームメイトが日本語が話せない外国人(独→仏→印)だったのが、一番良かった。二人で一緒に生活するなかで、彼等と本音で話を出来たので日本とは別の価値観を深く感じることができた。勿論英語力もついた。 2.学生から社会人まど色々な人がいて、問題もあったが、それも今考えれば勉強になった。

I had an incredible adventure here in Kyoto Kamigamo House, You can meet people here from everywhere in the world, discover new culture and make an real friendship. The house is very well designed and Borderless House staff is very helpful. If you are worried about feeling lonely in Japan, you should definitely apply for this house!

港町ということもあり、ハウスメンバーとご飯や、2月にあった旧正月を見に行ったり、とても楽しめました。他にも個人でやってるカフェが多いのも、おススメです！
